Yes, the Canadian Dental Care Plan Covers New Dentures!

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) offers Canadians with access to dental and denture care when they don't have dental insurance.

Does the CDCP Cover New Dentures?

Yes! Under the CDCP, all denture treatments are covered including complete dentures, partial dentures, flexible dentures, and one-tooth flippers. Regardless of the type of denture required, the CDCP fully covers all of the following:

  • Initial Denture Consultation: CDCP covers diagnostic assessments, including exams and imaging, to evaluate your suitability for dentures.
  • Denture Fabrication and Fitting: Full or partial dentures are included, making it easier for eligible Canadians to receive the right solution for their oral health needs.
  • Adjustments and Repairs: The plan covers adjustments and necessary repairs to existing dentures to ensure comfort and functionality.
  • Preventive Services: Routine check-ups related to denture maintenance may be covered, helping you keep your dentures in good shape.

What do I do When I Receive My Insurance Card?

Here's What to Expect at Twogether Dentures under the CDCP

Start With A Consultation (Covered By CDCP):

Every patient has unique needs so the first step is to visit our office for an in-person consultation. Consultations are key to determine the amount of work needed, and to determine coverage.

Treatment Plan Submission:

Once the consultation is complete, the next step is to submit a treatment plan for review and approval. Here, it's important to note some treatments require preauthorization while others do not. Your Denturist will be able to tell you which treatments need preauthorization.

Impressions, Measurements and Fabrication

As soon as your treatment is approved, the next step is to fabricate the denture in our lab. This involves taking an impression and measurements of your mouth to create a precise and contoured fit.

Fitting and Adjustments

In the final phase, your denture will be ready for you to try. During this stage, minor adjustments may need to be made for a perfect fit. These adjustments can typically be done in less than an hour while you wait.

Additional Considerations

While the CDCP covers the essentials of denture care, you may still encounter certain fees:

  • Co-Payments Based on Income: Depending on your income, the plan may require a co-payment.
  • Specialized Denture Services: Some customized or enhanced denture solutions may fall outside CDCP coverage limits.
